Hivpoint offers counselling appointments where you can talk to a professional about sexuality and sexual health. Counselling appointments are always free of charge and confidential. You decide what you want to talk about and what you want to share about yourself.
You can have 1–5 counselling appointments. Each appointment lasts up to 45 minutes. Counselling appointments take place at Hivpoint’s office in Helsinki, at Hermannin rantatie 2 B. We can talk in Finnish or English. Interpreter services are also available.
You can talk to us about topics such as
- HIV and other sexually transmitted infections
- HIV and STI prevention, testing and treatment
- PrEP, medication used to prevent HIV, including starting and using PrEP
- PEP, medication used after a possible exposure to HIV
- Shame or fear related to HIV and STIs
- Chemsex and substance use in connection with sex
- Pleasure and preferences
- Different ways of having sex
- Consent and boundaries
- Identity, such as sexual orientation
The counselling appointments are provided by Hivpoint’s sexual health specialists. We recognise and respect the diversity of sexuality, gender and relationships. We do not document any information from the counselling sessions in healthcare patient records, such as Kanta.

Book a free counselling appointment
When you book a counselling appointment, we ask for your name and email address, where we will send your booking confirmation. You can also use a nickname if you prefer.
You will receive a confirmation email for your appointment at the email address you provided. If you want to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you can do so using the link in the confirmation email. You can reschedule your appointment if there are available times. If no available times are shown in the booking system, all appointments are fully booked.
Counselling appointments can also be arranged remotely by phone or video call. If you would like to have a remote counselling appointment, if the available appointment times do not suit you, or if there are no available times left, please email us at: palvelut(at)hivpoint.fi
